My name is Chris Knight, I am now retired from gainful employment having spent my working life with an oil company and two automotive companies. Somewhere along the way, I developed a passion for woodwork and also for motorcycles. I have generally had a bike of some sort since I was a teenager and have enjoyed motorcycling on the road, the track and in the dirt. This blog was inspired by thoughts of writing about my motorcycling experiences as I embarked on ownership of a new bike, a Honda Goldwing - the biggest tourer of them all.

However, I am not averse to riding almost anything and so it”’’s inevitable that other bikes get a mention too. In fact I am currently torn between wanting to go on lengthy tours on the Goldwing on the paved roads of Europe and wanting to go on lengthy tours off road on my new GS in far away places. The wanderlust that saw me living in many different countries during my working life has never really left me and while I am still able, I would really like to take my bike to what”’’s left of the uncrowded open spaces on our planet.
